Tippkemper-Matrix GmbH in Overath-Marialinden, Germany, has been providing solutions in the field of sensor technology for nearly 50 years, including light barriers, proximity switches and fibre-optic sensors, and is the market leader in harsh environments (Ex Zones) such as high temperature (up to 400°C), high voltage, heavily polluted atmospheres and areas at risk of explosion, for a variety of manufacturing and processing industries. Matrix Elektronik and Tippkemper Elektronik products are known for their high quality and dependability, the result of meticulous and rigorous testing by the company's Quality Assurance staff; ensuring the products perform as you expect them to. Custom solutions are available even for small order unit numbers.
Matrix Elektronik AG, a manufacturer of sensors for explosive and harsh atmospheres, was founded in Ehrendingen in Northern Switzerland in 1976 (pictured above). The Tippkemper group was founded in Cologne, Germany, in 1973, supplying industrial sensors, opto-electronics and measurement of sound and vibration for explosive atmospheres and in 1982 the newly founded Tippkemper-Matrix GmbH became the German distributor for Matrix Elektronik AG. In 2003, Matrix Elektronik AG merged into Tippkemper group.
In 1998, Tippkemper Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Oelde-Stromberg, near Bielefeld, in Germany, focussing on the development and production of custom-tailored industrial electronics, especially capacitive measurement systems, with distribution handled by Tippkemper-Matrix GmbH in Overath-Marialinden, Germany. Tippkemper-Matrix is a medium-sized, family owned business with over 50 employees in development, production, administration and customer service.
Tippkemper-Matrix became ISO 9001 certified in 2015. In 2016, IECEx certificates were introduced into the product range. The IECEx System is the International Electrotechnical Commission System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Explosive Atmospheres. It provides a internationally accepted means of proving compliance with the IEC standards.
Miden Ltd is the reseller for Tippkemper-Matrix for the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, since 1980, and is based alongside the Grand Union Canal in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire (pictured left). Founder Bjorn Askert, physicist and Honorary Vice President of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, was first introduced to Matrix Elektronik products in 1980. He was intrigued by the technology and impressed by the overall level of quality and attention to detail, and saw a strong need for this range of products in the UK and Irish markets. Miden began distributing Matrix Elektronik products the same year. We have several decades of experience with Matrix and Tippkemper Elektronik products and provide a reliable, efficient and courteous service.
